How I Nearly Lost My Forex Account
Here’s how I nearly “blew Up” my forex trading account. Don’t let this happen to you!…
Earlier this year, I was trading the FAP Turbo forex robot. I was actually doing quite well. In just under a month, I had taken my live FXCM forex account from a $2000 starting balance to over $3,000. Not too bad for a month of trading.
Then, one night, the FAP Turbo robot went against me. In the blink of an eye, my account was ripped apart and emptied down to $423!
So, how did it happen?
I was trading the FAP Turbo robot without a VPS. I was running the robot from my desktop and connected via my cable internet connection. On this particular night, I received one of those
“windows Updates” and my system had to be restarted.
When I lost my connection to the internet (it was only for about 30 minutes), the forex pair I was trading started to go against me. FAP Turbo should have been able to get me out of the trade with minor losses, but because of my lost connection, was unable to make the trade in time.
If you are trading with an automated forex robot (like FAP Turbo, Forex Auto Pilot, Pipzu, etc) or other similiar automated forex software, be sure you always use a VPS (virtual private server). With a VPS service, your trading platform is hosted for you online. You don’t have to worry about Windows Updates, power outages, or any number of things that can disconnect a trading platform that is being run from your desktop.
The first VPS service I purchased was run by a company called Forex Hoster. That was a pretty bad experience. For whatever reason, they were experiencing some technical issues when I joined. After I paid them $69 for the first month of service, I never heard back from them. I had to end up requesting a refund from their credit card processor a few weeks later…very disappointing!
The second VPS service I tried was called Forex VPS. I absolutely LOVE this VPS service! They were only about $35 a month, about half the price of Forex Hoster. Setting up my account with ForexVPS was a breeze. Configuration of the server was a breeze, even for a tech dummie like me. My emails were answered in like 10 minutes.
The guy helping me was named Paul, and he rocked. He’d tell me each thing I’d need to configure, then ask me if I’d like for him to do it for me! That’s the kind of customer service I can appreciate. He even uploaded FXCM’s version of Metatrader for me. Seriously, I don’t think any email went longer than 10 minutes without a reply.
I’m dead serious folks…If you aren’t already using a VPS for your forex robots, YOU SHOULD BE! Once you wake up to a lost internet connection and a forex account a couple thousand in the hole, you’ll never trade without one again!
Forex VPS offers 3 different platforms:
Starter desktop -$35
Professional desktop – $65
Ultimate desktop – $115
I talked with Paul over at ForexVPS about these packages and which suited my needs the best. If you are only running a single version of Metatrader, the starter desktop is all you need. If you have a second broker, you can even run another version of Metatrader on it. Depending on the number of charts and expert advisors you have on each Metatrader, you may even be able to fit 3 on the starter package, but will have to watch your system resources. At any time, it’s simple to upgrade or downgrade a package.
If you’re running over 3 Metatraders and expert advisors, you’ll need one of the larger packages. If you’re simply running FAP Turbo with the 4 scalpers and one long term robot, the $35 starter package is all you’ll need.
Again, I can’t tell you how pleased I have been with the service I’ve received from Forex VPS! Paul and Brian are great guys to work with and my emails are answered almost immediately. They also don’t mind installing your metatrader OR FAP Turbo robot (if you need them to). I really can’t say enough about the service I’ve received , NOTHING like that first bad experience I had!
Don’t learn the hard way, get a VPS! Even better, get a VPS that SPECIALIZES in forex trading!…Get ForexVPS!
